Reality star and cocktail mogul Bethenny Frankel plans to launch a signature line of weed, entitled Skinnygirl Marijuana. No, this is not an Onion headline.
It is, however, a stoner's dream come true, at least in theory!
The Real Housewives of New York City cast member plans to launch her own line of “Skinnygirl marijuana" in Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington.
Why? Because in those states, recreational cannabis is legal.
Bethenny's hook, beyond trying to merely jump in and make money off of the newly-legalized marijuana market, is that hers won't give you the munchies.
Somewhere, 2 Chainz and Nancy Grace are both staring at their respective screens with jaws dropping as they read this ... for very different reasons.
“It will be a specially engineered strain of pot designed to not give you the munchies,” an insider close to the Skinnygirl creator, 44, tells Us Weekly.
“She read about how profitable the cannabis industry is.”
Well, yeah. But can she really achieve that stated goal?
It looks like she's gonna try. She recently tweeted about her inspiration during a trip to Colorado: “OMG it's the craziest thing to see marijuana legal in Aspen."
"People walking into pot stores like it's the @Gap #prohibitiondone,” the entrepreneur added, and perhaps she could use a bit of the product herself.
Her divorce battle with ex-husband Jason Hoppy is ugly.
“Jason turned down a $3 million settlement offer because he wanted more,” an insider says of the couple, who share custody of daughter Bryn, 4.
“Their divorce," while never fun, "has really gotten nasty.”
Can't we all just smoke a blunt and get along, man?
