The first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens took the web by storm over Thanksgiving weekend. Trailer, as in singular. There is only one actual teaser.

A couple of clever fake trailers are racking up millions of views online, however, a testament to the anticipation for the film and the popularity of the franchise.

It's also a testament to how little was actually revealed in the real Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer ... and how awesome this fake movie looks!!

Star Wars Episode 7 Teaser Trailer (Fan-Made)

With slickly edited Star Wars scenes, dramatic voiceovers and logos for Disney and director J.J. Abrams’ production company Bad Robot, this fooled many.

Comments such as "amazing" and "incredible" were posted underneath it, although the true die-hards knew it was a compilation of shots from other material.

No to mention ... why would there be a Darth Vader voiceover 30 years after he died in Return of the Jedi? And why would he basically spell out the plot?

Why does it matter!? It's awesome! Han Solo's even in it!!

Star Wars Episode VII Teaser Trailer (Fan-Made)

Another faux trailer used sequences from the hit video game Destiny as well as clips from the original trilogies, blended with Abrams' signature lens flare technique.

Pretty well done all around, Star Wars Nation.

Even fans who quickly outed the bogus teaser trailers as fake had to note that they were a lot more exciting than the actual teaser, if you can call it that.

The 88-second preview for the December 2015 release offered a few glimpses of stuff here and there, but effectively nothing to really sink your teeth into:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer

We know there will be Stormtroopers, the Millennium Falcon, an X-Wing and a badass Sith lightsaber, but that's about it. The rest is shrouded in mystery.

As it should be, really. Most of us don't want the movie spoiled ahead of time (although if you are one of those people, read this alleged Star Wars spoiler).

Still, the hype surrounding the first footage is a bit out of proportion to what was actually unveiled, although perhaps anything is better than nothing.

It is a trailer for a trailer, after all.

... A Stormtrooper, we assume. But could this new cast member be posting as a Stormtrooper?
