The 2014 MTV European Music Awards (EMAs) are in the books and all the winners have been announced following the event held last night in Glasgow, Scotland.

Spoiler alert: Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande are popular everywhere!

"Anaconda" rapper Minaj won the award for best Hip Hop, but gained even more attention when she opened the show, transporting viewers back to 1994.

In this faux time warp, a young Nicki watched the first-ever MTV EMAs from her bedroom before traveling into the future to make her grand show entrance.

As only she can, “Her Royal Minajesty” then led the sellout crowd through the rest of the night with her new song "Bed of Lies" and eye-popping outfits.

Ariana Grande won for Best Female and Best Song ("Problem"), but One Direction scooped the most number of awards, taking home three on the night.
