Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald saved their first kiss for marriage, remaining not only chaste but virtually free of all physical contact for more than a year.
The newlyweds are making up for lost time now, and understandably so!
Nearly 1,000 family members and friend saw Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald married on Saturday, but they did not witness the pair's first kiss at the altar.
The couple even waited until after the wedding to do so in private.
That move stunned Michelle Duggar, the mother of the bride, and left patriarch Jim Bob Duggar scrambling to tell TLC producers to edit out their surprise.
Well, days later, Jessa and Ben are more than happy to share.
Jessa, who just turned 22 on Tuesday, posted a black-and-white photo on Instagram of herself and Seewald, 19, embracing and kissing passionately.
She captioned it, "It's great living life with your best friend!"
Regardless of what we see when we watch 19 Kids & Counting online, there's little doubt that the duo is handling this on their own terms, and proudly so.
It's been a romantic road to marriage from the start for them.
The couple got engaged in August, as seen on this week's episode of the long-running reality series, then wasted little time before making it official.
Cameras busted them briefly breaking courtship rules and hugging full frontal style (only side hugs are allowed before marriage) after Ben proposed.
Beyond that, they stuck to their moral guns throughout.
As for why the young love birds waited until after the wedding ceremony before they shared the meaningful, intimate moment that is kissing one another?
"They wanted their very first kiss ever to be in private," Pastor Mike Schadt, who performed the ceremony, said. "It was very important to both of them."
